台湾・明新科技大学との連携協定を締結

iU（東京都墨田区、学長 中村伊知哉、http://www.i-u.ac.jp）は、このほど台湾にある中華民国明新学校財団法人明新科技大学（校長 劉國偉 Ming Hsin University of Science and Technology　https://www.must.edu.tw/）と包括的提携に合意しました。

iUの「世界大学構想」の一環として、明新科技大学との連携協定を締結しました。具体的には、以下を目的としています。

A. 教員と研究者の交換
B. 学生の交換
C. 共同研究と発見、学習と教育、および関与
D. 技術支援
E. 相互に合意したその他の教育または研究プログラム
F.  B-Labに関連する拠点作り及び研究活動
G. 地元の高校と提携して地域教育同盟を発展させ、両同盟が相互に交流を取り合い、国際的な地域教育同盟を形成する
H. その他

明新科技大学は、台湾・新竹に位置する1966年創立の私立科技大学。学部は、サービス産業学部、人文設計学部、半導体学部、工学部、管理学部を有しています。校訓の「持続・革新・創造」のもと、優秀な学生を養育するという長期目標を掲げ、能力だけではなく高貴な道徳心を持ち、専門的な知識と優れた技術を習得する学生の養育を目指しています。

iUは、今後も国内外の主要大学と積極的に提携し、ITとビジネスの世界に向けての知的ハブとしての世界大学、「世界大学構想」の実現を目指します。
具体的には学生、教員の交流や、共同研究の実施に加え、以下を目的としています。

(1) 提携大学での授業が受けられ、卒業単位として認められるパスポート制度
(2) 戦略特区の共同利用による新産業、新製品の共同開発研究
(3) 海外留学生へのビザ特区の設置
(4) その他eスポーツ、超教育、超スポーツ、アニメ、オタクなどの国際的共同研究
(5) 起業支援、及び人材育成

今般の海外大学との提携は、iUが提唱する「世界大学構想」の一環として推進します。
これまでiUは、米国カリフォルニア大学サン・ディエゴ校 (UCSD)、米国イリノイ大学シカゴ校、米国アリゾナ州立大学、米国ポートランド州立大学、英国シェーフィールド大学、マレーシアラッフルズ大学、シンガポール国立大学、英国ニコラ・テスラ大学院大学、アフリカアクレ連邦技術大学、ハルトインターナショナルビジネススクール（HULT）、アラバエフ・キルギス国立大学と提携しております。
各校との提携により、今後iUは、それぞれの大学の学生及び教員の交流を通じ、国際的共同講義の開発・開催、各種IT技術に関する国際共同実験・実装、そして国際的共同研究などを、各大学とまたこの活動を支援する内外著名企業各社とともに展開してまいります。

iU Signs Partnership Agreement With Ming Hsin University of Science and Technology in Taiwan

iU (Sumida-ku, Tokyo, President: Ichiya Nakamura. https://www.i-u.ac.jp/) has agreed to a comprehensive partnership with Ming Hsin School Foundation Ming Hsin University of Science and Technology (President: Kuo-wei Liu, Ming Hsin University of Science and Technology. https://www.must.edu.tw/) in Taiwan

■ About the partnership agreement with Ming Hsin University of Science and Technology

The partnership agreement with Ming Hsin University of Science and Technology has been signed as part of iU’s World University Concept. The specific objectives of this agreement are as follows:

A. Exchange of faculty members and researchers

B. Student exchange

C. Joint research, learning and education, and engagement

D. Technical support

E. Other mutually agreed education and research programs

F.  Establishment of bases and research activities related to B-Lab

G. Partner with local high schools to develop a regional educational alliance, with both alliances interacting with each other to form an international regional educational alliance

■ Ming Hsin University of Science and Technology

Ming Hsin University of Science and Technology is a private university of science and technology founded in 1966 and located in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The university is divided into the College of Service Industries, College of Humanities and Design, Semiconductor School, College of Engineering, and the College of Management. The university has set a long-term goal of nurturing excellent students based on the university’s motto of “Perseverance, Innovation, and Creation”, with the aim of nurturing students who have not only ability but also noble morals, and who have acquired both professional knowledge and excellent skills.

■ About the World University Concept

iU will continue to actively partner with major universities in Japan and around the world as it aims to implement its World University Concept, a global university that is an intellectual hub for the IT and business world.

In addition to exchanges of students and faculty members and the implementation of joint research, other specific objectives are as follows:

(1) Passport system that allows students to take classes at partner universities and have them recognized as course credits

(2) Joint research and development of new industries and products through joint use of strategic special zones

(3) Establishment of special visa zones for international students

(4) International joint research of e-sports, future learning, future sports, anime, otaku culture, etc.

(5) Entrepreneurial support and human resource development

■Future plans

This partnership with an overseas university will be promoted as part of the World University Concept advocated by iU.

To date, iU has partnered with the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) (US), University of Illinois Chicago (US), Arizona State University (US), Portland State University (US), University of Sheffield (UK), Raffles University (Malaysia), National University of Singapore, Nikola Tesla Graduate School (UK), Federal University of Technology Akure (Nigeria), Hult International Business School (HULT), and Ishenaly Arabaev Kyrgyz State University.

Through the partnerships with these universities, iU will continue to develop and hold international joint lectures, conduct international joint experiments and implementation of various IT technologies, and conduct international joint research through exchanges between students and faculty members of various universities, along with other prominent Japanese and international companies that support these activities.
